October's New Moon in Libra is Explosive!

Powerful and dynamic new beginnings, but caution is necessary.

This month's New Moon in Libra isn't coming to play!  While we'll experience an abundance of passion and initiative, there will also be an abundance of anger, aggression, and explosive energy.

Hide your kids, hide your wife...this New Moon is coming for ALL your relationships.  Libra, as we all know, is associated with relationships, so the good news is that we can all experience new beginnings on that front. 

The not-so-good news; these new beginnings may be filled with fire, hood, and I wish a mufuka would.

Here's everything you need to know to make the most of this New Moon.

The Astrology

Astrologically speaking, New Moons are when the Sun and Moon are conjunct, meaning that the Sun and Moon occupy the same space in the sky.  

When this happens, the energies of both luminaries mix together.  The Sun represents our ego and conscious mind, and the Moon represents our emotions and our subconscious.  During the New Moon phase, we typically experience a time of complete awareness of our entire selves, both inside and out.

The New Moon signifies the beginning of the lunar cycle; seeds are planted, and intentions are set.  The slate is wiped clean, and so are we. 

The Sun and Moon will be conjunct Mars, making this New Moon explosive.  Mars is the planet of anger, aggression, and conflict.  While this energy is very volatile, it's also great for initiating things.  Mars represents the force needed to get things in motion or move in a different direction. 

All three planets will be at 13° Libra, and the 13th degree is the Aries degree.  Aries signifies new beginnings in and of itself, and those new beginnings are explosive, dynamic, and powerful. 

The best way to think about this New Moon is as follows: purification through fire.

For example, farmers often do something called "prescribed burns," where they burn their fields to remove plants that are already growing and help the plants that are about to come up.  In that same way, our relationships will be purified through the fire of Mars.

As such, Mars may give you the push to initiate a new relationship or shift gears in an existing one.  Caution is necessary, though.  Dangerously playing with fire will undoubtedly burn you.  However, if you use this energy constructively, much headway can be made in your relationships.

The Sun, Moon, and Mars will quincunx Uranus in Taurus. The quincunx is a difficult aspect that brings about tension, confusion and can add more frustration to an already difficult situation.  With Uranus in the mix, we'll be feeling this tension along with nervousness, anxiety, and a buildup of electric energy.  

How will this play out exactly?  Well, your intuition will alert you to the fact that change and/or drama is on the way.  Couple this with the explosive energy of Mars, and it's no wonder why caution is needed at this time.

Pluto stations direct on the same day.  For the last six months, Pluto has been retrograde.  As such, we've all been dealing with power, control, and transformation issues on a subconscious level.  Situations, and even people, from our past, have been popping up as a way to transform and show us where our power lies.  

Now that Pluto is stationing direct, we will see how this transformation plays out in our external environments.  Up first on the transformation block is our relationships, thanks to the New Moon.

Truth be told, this energy of new beginnings will be intense.  Some relationships will be able to withstand the heat; others may burn out.  Regardless, a serious shift in energy is at hand.

New Moon for the Signs

Aries

This New Moon is going down in your 7th House of relationships, so expect a significant shift in your commitments.  The balance will be restored if you allow what's not serving you to be burned in the fire.  

Taurus

Your 6th House of work and health will feel the fire during this New Moon.  Work relationships are on the chopping block.  Have you been giving too much of yourself in service to others?  This Moon will definitely give you the answer.

Gemini

Your 5th House of romance and children is highlighted with this New Moon.  Beware of conflict and aggression with romantic partners and/or kids.  When all is said and done, this New Moon will establish equality and peace.

Cancer

Expect things at home to heat up when the New Moon ignites your familial relationships.  Your commitment to family members will undoubtedly transform.  Justice, peace, and balance will be restored.

Leo

Siblings, extended family, and neighbors are the subject of this New Moon.  Remember that sometimes things have to get worse before they get better.  Renewal of these relationships is imminent; expect the best.

Virgo

This New Moon ignites who and what you value in your life.  It's time to set fire to those things that no longer serve you.  Whatever remains is here to stay.  Expect your life and your wallet to be enriched.  

Libra

Libra, your relationship with yourself is the most important of all, and that's what this New Moon will show you.  Whoever has a problem with that can and will find the door.  It's time for a new you.

Scorpio

Secret haters and enemies are going to feel the fire this New Moon.  The good news is that you don't have to do anything.  Inner peace and tranquility are what this Moon will bring you.

Sagittarius

The New Moon will set your friendships ablaze.  You'll either get a serious push to connect with your tribe, or you'll clean house with your current group of friends.  Either way, you'll be good. 

Capricorn

Your relationship with superiors, bosses, fans, and followers is up for review this New Moon.  While you should avoid conflict if you can, any fights that do ensue are for the best.  Balance and equity are the orders of the day.

Pisces
